SOLWORK

is a peer-led, trauma-informed group experience rooted in self-reflection, breath, storytelling, and compassion. It’s designed especially for folks in recovery, transition, or healing – people who may not normally seek out things like meditation or journaling, but who are craving something to help them reset.

Each session blends together:

  • Lessons, stories, and metaphors (often from Zen or Vedic traditions)
  • Grounding breath work to calm the nervous system
  • Group reflection, journaling & sharing
  • Art + music
  • Guided meditation + sound healing
  • Gentle movement

We talk about real things:

  • Why we keep repeating the same thoughts.
  • How our past shapes our reactions.
  • What it means to forgive ourselves – or at least stop beating ourselves up.

We laugh. We sometimes cry. We breathe. We get quiet.
And we leave a little more space inside.

Why I’m Reaching Out

I’ve recently moved home to the Research Triangle Park area, and I’m looking to offer SōLwork as a volunteer program within behavioral health centers, transitional housing programs, community spaces, or anywhere that people might benefit from a little extra support.

I’m not trying to make money. I’m not promoting a brand.
I just know that some of these tools have helped me, and I believe in offering them freely — especially in communities where healing isn’t always easy to access.

What It Looks Like in Practice

A SōLwork session can be as short as 45 minutes or as long as 90.
It can happen in a rec room, a recovery center, a shelter, or even a living room.
No mats. No fancy poses. No pressure. Just presence.

You don’t need experience.
You don’t need to share.
You just need to show up as you are.

A Few of the Themes We Explore

  • You Are Not Your Thoughts: Learning to witness the mind without getting lost in it.
  • Rewriting the Inner Critic: Challenging the voice that says we’re not enough.
  • The Calm Conversation Protocol: How to stay regulated when emotions run high.
  • Alchemical Daydreaming: Turning rumination into creative visioning.
  • Befriending the Inner Child: Meeting the parts of us that still feel scared, unseen, or frozen in time.

Every session includes a grounding practice and ends with a simple affirmation or chant — something that stays with you even after we say goodbye.

If This Resonates…

If you’re working in a setting where people are seeking clarity, stability, or a fresh start — and you think this offering could serve — I’d love to talk.

We can start small.
One session. One group.
No commitment.
Just a conversation.

Thank you for considering this. I mean it. And thank you for creating the kind of space where people can feel safe enough to heal.

With much metta,
